Scheduled
Our Partner Carrier has notified us that they will start traffic migration from their Legacy ORS Platform to a New Geo-Redundant Platform. This important corrective action will address vulnerabilities that factored into the service interruption that occurred last month, and will improve network resiliency.

Traffic migration from the Legacy ORS Platform to the New Geo-Redundant Platform will be executed in three steps:

STEP 1 – LTE Signaling Migration
STEP 2 – Data Mobile Traffic Migration (GTP-C and GTP-U protocols)
STEP 3 – SS7 Signaling Migration

STEP 1 – LTE Signaling Migration will be implemented on Tuesday, September 6, 2022 at 20:00 UTC.

Impact:
During the scheduled activity devices may experience short periods of LTE/4G data connectivity service interruption.

NOTE: There is no downtime expected for 2G/3G network registration or data connectivity.

Other Information:
Sierra Wireless Global NOC will be actively monitoring and prepared to quickly engage our partner if any unexpected service impact is observed during the activity.
